Combined transport
Intermodal transport is the transport of freight in the same intermodal transport unit, using two or more modes of transport without handling the cargo when changing the mode of transport.
The combined freight transport is the intermodal transport in which most of the transport is carried out by rail and/or maritime and the initial and/or final part is carried out by road which is as short as possible.
Montecargo offers the services of combined transport of all intermodal transport units. Intermodal transport unit includes containers (lenght 20 feet or more), swap bodies, trailers, semi-trailers, with traction vehicle or without it, and wagons for combined transport.
The following classes of goods exist in combined transport and their position/item (NHM number) in the Goods Classification is as follows:
Montecargo provides transport services of a complete container train, such as block trains, as well as the transport of trains including trucks. The shipments of intermodal units can also be realized as individual shipments. Parameters of block trains are max gross train weight 1000 t and max length of train 500 m. The transport service is realized both in flat wagons and private P wagons. Montecargo owns the flat wagons of the R and S series. Transport of 40 ̓ HIGH CUBE containers on the railway lines of Montenegro takes place without particular conditions.
